Words Christmas tree

Hello crafty friends and welcome to another late post. On the upside, I’ve had a lovely day having lunch with friends., so I’m not complaining! I grabbed some time for a quick play with a new Christmas stamp set from Clarity – the ‘Clarity Charity Trees’. I decided it was perfect for a (fairly) simple card, apart from a bit of masking.

I’ve used the layout from this week’s AAA Cards challenge and paired it with the colours from the new palette at CAS Colours & Sketches

I started by stamping the largest tree in the set onto a square of white card, using Artistry inks in ‘elegant emerald’ and ‘blaze’ for the star. I’ve got the small Artistry inkpads, so it was quite easy to ink the star separately.

I then masked off a panel across the card, in line with two sets of the words on the tree. I used masking tape to cover most of the stamp, so I could just ink the line of words I wanted each time in the ‘blaze’ and then filled in the panel, stamping them in turn.

I finished by masking the tree using sticky notes and brushed ‘dry weed’ ink into the background to further define the tree shape. The whole topper then went onto a 6×6 card blank.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m aiming to get more organised with my blogging tomorrow, earlier in the evening!
