peace on earth

Hello, crafty friends. I’m back after a few days away with my sister and then a little work trip, so thought I’d get straight back into harness with a (fairly) quick Christmas card! I haven’t done any crafting for the last few days and I was getting withdrawal symptoms!! This ‘peace on earth bauble’ stamp from Clarity is one of my favourites – it comes out every year but I try to do something different with it each time.

The set is a two piece one, and I started by stamping the outline image straight onto a 5×5 card blank with WOW clear embossing ink, and then heat embossed it with their ‘deck the halls’ sparkly powder. It didn’t come out very well the first time round, but I’d fortunately used my stamping platform – I heated the powder to set it and the stamped it again over the top and re-embossed it. In fact I wound up doing it three times in total, which gave the image a lovely depth.

I then used the second stamp in the set to fill in all the white areas, this time heat embossing it with WOW’s ‘metallic gold’ powder. This layer only needed doing once.

I die cut a frame from Julie Hickey’s square ‘layers. frames & banners’ set, and heat embossed a little gold string (I drew it in with my Versamark pen) before gluing the frame into place so the bauble wasn’t floating in mid-air! The final touch was three green Glossies stars.

I’m going to share this card over with TicTacToe challenge, as it fits the top row of their current grid – Christmas tree, ornament and glitter.
