Welcome to my crafty blog and another Christmas card. This one uses the retired ‘Festival of Trees’ set from Stampin’ Up! – a standard favourite of mine. I’ve teamed it with a sentiment from the new ‘Stars are Shining’ set and taken inspiration from the photo at Inkspirational – I don’t have any fox stamps, so have picked up the trees from the top of the cake. I’m also going to share it with AAA Cards – I was lucky enough to be invited to be a guest designer for their current theme of ‘celebrate’ on their 200th blog (you can see my cupcake card here), but I thought this fitted the bill as well.

I started by stamping two of the trees in ‘iced spruce’ Distress Oxide, with the trunks in ‘potting soil’ Archival ink. I punched them out, together with a third all white one to which I just added the brown trunk. I heat embossed the gold dots onto the two green trees and embossed the white one with WOW’s clear sparkle powder.

I heat embossed the sentiment onto a 5×5 card blank, again using WOW’s gold satin pearly powder, and then attached the trees above it with foam pads.

I didn’t have any gold stars to add to pick up another element in Inkspirational’s photo, so settled for three gold pearls instead as the finishing touch.

Thanks for dropping in. I wasn’t sure if I’d manage to share any cards yesterday and today, thanks to busy work commitments, but I’ll always find an opportunity to craft if it opens up!
Love this!

I love the texture you’ve achieved by embossing and the simple design is great. Thanks for joining in at Inkspirational Challenges.
