something fishy

Welcome to my crafty blog. I’m keeping it simple today with a CAS masculine card, inspired by the themes over at The Paper Players and Addicted to CAS. I dipped back into my Claritystamp stash for this little stamp of the fisherman, which comes from the ‘love framer’ stamp set, and teamed it with the small landscape stamp from the Craft Club this April.

I stared with one of my never diminishing supply of inky mop-up backgrounds in shade of blue and trimmed it down to a small square.

I stamped the fisherman to the left using Archival black ink and then added the landscape stamp next to him to complete his little island. I didn’t quite manage to get the base of the two stamps level, so I filled in the gap with a black marker and a ruler. I then cut a slightly larger card square and blended ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxide around the edge to make a mount for the image.

I finished by adding the sentiment from the April Craft Club stamps and then popped the whole piece onto a 5×5 card blank.

Job done! Now I know my friends will be surprised to see me making a card with this theme, as I can’t stand fish! I don’t eat it and I don’t like swimming in the sea either, in case I bump into one of the horrid flappy things! This may look like a tranquil scene, but I can assure you I would not be sitting calmly on a river bank with a fishing rod. Each to their own, eh?
