may all your wishes come true

Welcome to my crafty blog. I got the Claritystamp riverside reflection masks out again today – I love playing with these as the cards always feel like mini works of art (speaking as someone who can’t draw for toffee!) and they meet CASology‘s challenge perfectly. This week’s theme over at As You See It challenge is ‘favourite animal’ – anyone who knows me will not be surprised to see the little cat feature on this card. It’s such a brilliant image and I love the sense of expectation in his profile.

challenge 256

I started with the ‘riverside bank’ reflection mask on a piece of white card and brushed Artistry inks in ‘mellow green’ and ‘ocean reef’ across it, also adding a little black Archival with a sponge as shadow.

I swapped the masks over so the trees and ground were now covered and added the upper part of the mountains reflection mask from the set. I then brushed ‘moon shadow’ across it and used a torn piece of copy paper to add ridges to the mountains. After removing the mountain mask, I popped one of the moon masks over the trees and brushed a little ‘ocean reef’ across it.

I finished by stamping the little cat from the ‘birdhouse garden’ set, together with the birds. The final touch was to add one of the word stickers, which I thought perfectly summed up the little cat’s ambition!

Thanks for dropping in. I managed to spend some time in the garden today, as did one of our cats, Benji, who was busy watching the birds in the trees. He had no hope of any of them coming near enough to chase, either!

  3. This is such a beautiful scene you made, and those masks are really wonderful. Like how you added the silhouette of the cat. The harshness of the silhouette contrasts perfectly with the softness of your scene. Thanks so much for playing along at CASology.
