Welcome to my crafty blog. Today’s card has a bit more of an autumnal feel – I picked up the challenge theme of ‘harvest’ from Just Us Girls with Stampin’ Up!’s ‘painted harvest’ set from a few years ago. I thought that would work well with this week’s colour palette from The Paper Players

The first step was to stamp the sunflower in two colours – ‘butterscotch’ Adirondack ink and ‘fired brick’ Distress ink. I used the ‘butterscotch’ for the outer petals and centre, adding the ‘fired brick’ for the inner layer of petals. Interestingly, the two colours blended together to give the ‘fired brick’ more of a rusty tone. I stamped the flowers twice onto a piece of card cut to fit an A6 card blank, with a third one on a piece of scrap which I then fussy cut.

I then added the fern stamp from the set in first and second generation ‘peeled paint’ Distress ink, together with the sentiment. I then mounted the topper onto layers of yellow and green card before attaching it to the card blank.

To finish, I stamped and punched out several of the leaves in the set and then attached them and third flower to the card front using foam pads.

It’s been a lovely sunny day here today, so it feels a bit odd to be moving onto autumnal colours already. The sentiment is appropriate, though, as I had lunch out with some close friends who I am indeed thankful for!
Gorgeous! LOVE the sunflowers!

Lovely! I really like how the 2 flower colors blended. It gives a lot of depth to the color. The extra leaves just hanging over the edge of the top layer is a nice detail too! Thanks for sharing at The Paper Players!
