birthday roses

Welcome to my crafty blog. I’ve had another play with Stampin’ Up!’s ‘Artistically Inked’ stamp set, this time just using the smaller individual stamps with the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches and the colour palette from Color Throwdown. I haven’t used any of my WOW embossing powders for a while, so thought it was time they came out to play.

I started with a piece of card trimmed down to fit an A6 card blank and stamped the double leaf with WOW clear ink at the bottom of the card. I heat embossed it using ‘aquamarine’ powder, and then stamped the sentiment above it in ‘shadow grey’ Archival.

Next was to stamp the single rose above the sentiment, which was heat embossed with WOW’s ‘candy floss’ powder. I added a second rose at the top of the card, again heat embossed with the ‘candy floss’. There wasn’t quite enough space to fit the double leaf between the roses so I stamped the small single leaf twice and heat embossed it with the ‘aquamarine’.

I finished by mounting the topper onto a piece of light grey card and then attaching the whole piece to the card blank.

Thanks for dropping in. I love these colours together – I don’t use pale pink very much and it’s a first outing for the ‘candy floss’ powder. More to come, I think!
