Welcome to my crafty blog and a new theme over at The Alphabet Challenge. We’re now up to ‘i’ in our alphabet and Dawn has chosen ‘insects’ for us. I decided to go with butterflies (after checking on the Zoological Society of London’s website that they really are insects – which they are!) Amazingly, there are over 160,000 species of butterfly in the world and I discovered that, unlike my three here, every scale on a butterfly’s wing is a single colour – I’ll have to remember that for next time!
Back to my card… I started by trimming a piece of white card to fit an A6 card blank and then embossed it along the lower edge using Stampin’ Up!’s ‘meadow moments’ mini folder. I then stamped the sentiment from the ‘art gallery’ set in ‘watering can’ Archival ink.

I then stamped three small butterflies from the SU ‘butterfly gala’ set in ‘salvaged patina’ Distress Oxide and punched them out before gluing them onto the card front.

A nice and simple card, but I really like the effect of the little turquoise butterflies against the white background. Do come and join us at The Alphabet Challenge – we’d love to see which insects you choose to add to your cards. In the meantime, I’m going to share this card over at AAA cards as well, as I incorporated their theme into my design.

Simple but perfect. Love it 🙂

I like both versions of this card, although the all white one really captures my CAS heart. Thanks for playing at AAA Cards, hope to see you join in with future challenges too. Stay safe and keep crafting!
