artistically inked anniversary

Welcome to my crafty blog. I needed a card for friends who are celebrating their wedding anniversary this weekend, and have fallen in love with the new ‘Artistically Inked’ set from Stampin’ Up! after doing an online class using it earlier this week with Joanne James. I thought it would work really well with the colours from this week’s Global Design Project challenge, and the layout from Freshly Made Sketches

I started with a 5×5 card blank and stamped the abstract watercolour stamp from the set all over the front using ‘salvaged patina’ Distress Oxide.

Next was to emboss a strip of white card with SU’s ‘bricks and mortar’ folder and attach it at a diagonal across the card front. I die cut the leafy spray in navy card and added that to the white strip. I then stamped the small flower twice using ‘picked raspberry’, adding the little flower stamp into the centres before die cutting them. I also stamped one of the small butterflies from the ‘Butterfly Gala’ set, using ‘salvaged patina’ for the background and ‘chipped sapphire’ for the outline, before punching it out. I then nestled the flowers amongst the leaves with foam pads, and glued the butterfly onto one of them.

I finished by stamping the sentiment (from Lawn Fawn’s ‘happy happy happy’ set) in ‘chipped sapphire’ directly onto the card front.

Thanks for dropping in. I think you’re going to be seeing more of this set on my blog over the coming weeks!
