birthday boat

Welcome to my crafty blog. Today’s card resurrects a few things that have been in my stash for some time – it’s always good to get more use out of sets I’ve had for a while.

I started with the large ‘happy birthday’ die from Memory Box – this is such a useful one. I cut it into a piece of white card that I’d trimmed to fit on an A6 card blank, and then attached a strip of dark blue card behind ‘birthday’ so the letters were in relief.

I remembered that I’d got some water effect card in a box, so cut a small piece to sit behind the tope of the die cut, and then attached the whole topper to the card blank.

All I then needed to do was stamp the boat and bird from Stampin’ Up!’s ‘swirly bird’ set (now retired). I fussy cut them before adding them to the card with foam pads.

Another nice and simple card. I’m sharing this with a few challenges – Outside the Box have got ‘something blue’ as their June theme, so this fits nicely. I also picked up the centre row (blue, big sentiment, boat) from TicTacToe‘s grid, and the ‘maritime’ theme from Inskpirational
