Welcome to my crafty blog – and a specially warm welcome to the new folk who are now following my ramblings. I’ve now got just over 100 followers on my crafty musings, which is incredible considering this is just a little hobby blog on my crafty journey – thank you all for coming along with me!
I’ve stepped up the design I made yesterday for this card, as I do like this technique for using up paper scraps. I must confess, though, that I did actually cut up a new sheet of designer paper today (gasp!!), but it did make 2 cards, so I forgave myself. I started with a piece of Clarity paper from ‘Barb’s favourite Toscana’ pack, and trimmed four strips to sit on an A6 card. I attached them to a slightly smaller piece of white card, and then inlaid narrow strips of white card, so the surface was level. I found it easiest to attach the strips each end first, and I could then evenly space the central ones before adding in the white pieces.
I then die cut two of the leafy sprays from Stampin’ Up!’s ‘forever flourishing’ set. I used white for the larger one, so that the smaller green one stood out better against the background, and then attached them both to the card front using glue.
To finish I just stamped the sentiment from SU’s ‘art gallery’ set with ‘bundled sage’ Distress Oxide onto a narrow piece of card and sat it across the stems using foam pads.
Thanks for dropping in. This card is going to be winging it’s way to another friend who’s got a new job, but in the meantime I’m also sharing it with a couple of challenges. I took the colours from this week’s palette at Global Design Project and used FreshlyMadeSketches new layout for the background.
