fruit salad!

Welcome to my crafty blog. It’s time for a new sketch challenge over at CAS Colours & Sketches, and I’m sharing my final contribution as a guest designer for the challenge. This month has gone so fast and it’s been such a great opportunity to be part of the CCAS team – huge thanks to Patricia and the team for inviting me. The upside is that I get to play in the challenges again from next week (very cloud has a silver lining)!

I felt I had to go with strawberries for this challenge as it’s the start of the Wimbledon tennis championships next week – in case you didn’t know, bowls of strawberries and cream are a key part of the experience along with the tennis! I started, though, by stamping a panel of white card with the blueberries & leaves from Stampin’ Up!’s ‘berry blessings’ set (my other favourite fruit, and they go so well with strawberries). I used Distress Oxides in ‘chipped sapphire’ and ‘mowed lawn’, and then mounted the panel onto another piece where I’d blended the ‘chipped sapphire’ around the edge.

I stamped and punched out three strawberries, using ‘festive berries’ and ‘mowed lawn’, which then sat on the front of the panel.

All I needed to do to finish the card was add the sentiment in’chipped sapphire’, together with a few dark blue Glossies.

Looking at all this fruit has whetted my appetite for a bowl of strawberries & blueberries with yogurt & granola – a delicious breakfast. In the meantime I’m going to share this card at a couple of other challenges. Joanne has chosen ‘fruit and berries’ over at this week’s Paper Players challenge, and I’ve also gone with the centre row from Felicita’s TicTacToe challenge
