Welcome to my crafty blog. I got busy with a spot of die cutting for this card – I don’t often use lots of die cuts (basically I’m too impatient!) but was inspired by a recent online class with Joanne James (aka The Crafty Owl). I used the Stampin’ Up ‘forever fern’ stamps and matching dies for this one, inspired by the challenges over at Fusion (using their sketch and the photo theme) and Just Us Girls (for the colours)

I started by stamping a selection of the leaves and berries from ‘forever fern’, using Distress Oxide in ‘mustard seed’, ‘broken china’ and ‘shaded lilac’ and die cut them all out. I then glued them onto a small circle of card to create the bouquet.

I then cut a piece of white card slightly smaller than a 5×7 card blank and masked off a panel across the upper part. I brushed the ‘broken china’ and ‘shaded lilac’ inks across the panel to pick up the effect of the stripes on Fusion’s inspiration sketch. I stamped the verse from Stampendous’ ‘Bible verses’ in archival black, before attaching the topper to the card front.

To finish, I glued the bouquet onto the card front and added a small ribbon bow at the base.

Psalm 136 is one of the songs of praise in the Bible. It’s also the basis for a contemporary worship song, ‘Forever’ by one of my favourite writers – Chris Tomlin. It’s worth a listen if you don’t know it – here’s the link below. I’m praying it won’t be too much longer before we’re all allowed to sing together again in church here in the UK – I have missed it so much in our services.
Absolutely love it! So pretty. Great text too!
