Welcome to my crafty blog. It’s Good Friday today, when Christians commemorate Christ’s crucifixion so it seemed appropriate to share a card of hope. This is probably the most poignant day in the Christian calendar but we do at least know what happened over the next few days, unlike the disciples who had to rely on their faith and hope.
I’ve taken inspiration for this card from the grid over at TicTacToe challenge, using the prompts from the centre row: square, feminine, encouragement.

I actually managed to use a background out of my ever-growing stash for this card! It’s a second generation image from a background I’d made a little while ago. I’d used Distress Oxides in ‘chipped sapphire’ and ‘tattered rose’ with Claritystamp’s square background stamp.

I started by stamping the floral wreath from Stampin’ Up!’s ‘gift of hope’ and then added the Bible verse from a Stampendous set, using Archival ‘watering can’ for both.

I then used a waterbrush and the Distress Oxides to colour in the image – the ‘tattered rose’ for the flowers and the ‘chipped sapphire’ for the leaves. Once dry, I trimmed the card down along the edge of the background image and edged it with a dark blue Sharpie pen. It then sat nicely on a 6×6 card blank.

A nice simple card that didn’t take very long to make. I’m now hopefully awaiting the joy of Easter Sunday!
Beautiful!
