12 Dies of Clarity – day 1 hearty heart aperture die

My second blog today! This is the second part of day 1 of my 12 Days of Clarity personal challenge. This time I’m using the January die from the New Design Club – a hearty heart aperture. I decided to make a card ready for Valentine’s Day in February – let’s face it, it’s an obvious design for that! I first cut the die into the centre of a square of white card.

I then recut the die into a small scrap piece of red card, so that I could snip out the heart from the top left, which I stuck onto the white die cut

I stamped ‘Love’ from the ‘Art Nouveau sentiments’ in Archival ‘red geranium’ along the bottom edge of the die cut, to off set the red heart

I finished the card by attaching the die cut square onto a 6×6 white card blank, using foam pads so there is a slight shadow behind the image.

I made a second card in the same way, but this time cutting the image into a square of purple card. I heat embossed ‘congratulations across the bottom of the die cut, as I thought it would make a good engagement or wedding card. I added a few small perals to the hearts in the die cut before again attaching it to a 6×6 white card blank using foam pads

Thanks for dropping in. I’ll be posting day 2 of my 12 Days of Clarity tomorrow
