Welcome to my crafty blog. Well, I spoke too soon! Although I had finished my Christmas cards (and they are now all in the post), I got a last minute commission for a card with snowflakes, so here it is. I’ve got a bit addicted to kraft and white cards, so I’m afraid I went back to that combination for this one.
I started by die cutting the sentiment using a Memory Box die that I’ve had for several years and hadn’t so far got out this time round. I cut it into a piece of white card so that ‘happy’ sat across the centre of the kraft card blank. The other good thing about this die is that you can save the cut out letters from ‘Christmas’ to use on another card (can’t bear to waste anything!)

Before I attached the white card, I lightly sprinkled the upper half of the card blank with some WOW ‘bright white ultra high powder’ and heat embossed it. I have fallen in love with this effect thanks to Marion Emberson from Sugar & Spice Crafts – it’s so easy and so effective. I then die cut three snowflakes from the Stampin Up ‘so many snowflakes’ die set, and popped two onto the top part of the card and the third to balance out the white card at the bottom.

One thing’s for sure – last minute cards need to be fairly quick to produce, and this one was no exception. I’m now on to birthday cards for those whose big day falls over Christmas and New Year, so will be sharing those in due course.
Beautiful design Deborah. Great inspiration x
