Welcome to my crafty blog. Having thought I’d finished my Christmas cards, I had to produce a few more today, when I discovered that I can’t count and was several short in my stash! This card was inspired by the current challenge over at The Paper Players (http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/) using a technique from a recent class I did with Marion Emberson of Sugar and Spice Crafts. Judging from the current weather forecasts, there won’t be any sign of snow in London this Christmas, so I thought I’d contribute my own!

I started by sprinkling some WOW bright white ultra high embossing powder onto the front of a black 5×5 card blank, and then heating it so it looks like snow. I have to say I realised I’d been a bit heavy handed with the powder, so it’s more of a blizzard than gently falling snow! As all crafters know – you can add it, but you can’t take it away!

Next was to stamp and emboss the sentiment, which is from Stampin Up’s ‘poinsettia petals’ set. I used a silver sparkle embossing powder for this.

Finally, I die cut three snowflakes in white card, using one of the dies from Stampin Up’s ‘so many snowflakes’ set. I popped a dab of glue in the centre of each snowflake and then aligned them across the snowy panel

A fairly easy last minute card. I only had a couple of black card blanks left, so also made a few using kraft card – and learned my lesson about a lighter sprinkle of the embossing powder on these!
