Welcome to my crafty blog. I’ve had a bit of a break from making Christmas cards, and turned to a birthday card for today’s offering. I’ve used the ‘Be Happy’ stamps by Julie Hickey, inspired by the colours in this week’s Color Throwdown challenge (https://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/)

I started by stamping the large half sunflower and watercolouring it in pale blue, picking out the hearts in purple and then cutting it out.

I then lightly brushed ‘slate’ ink through the Claritystamp ‘brick wall’ stencil to give a subtle pattern on a piece of white card. This was the closest I could get to the beige in the colour challenge with my inks.

I then glued the flower onto the left hand side of the card, and attached it to a 6×6 card blank. I finished the card by stamping the sentiment next to the flower and adding a few small die cut hearts. This is a fairly simple design, but the stamp is so lovely I didn’t think it needed anything else.
