Welcome to my crafty blog. Today’s card is another birthday card for a friend (I’ve got a lot of birthdays to cover at this time of year!). This time I’ve used Stampin Up’s ‘butterfly gala’ stamp set, from the current catalogue, which has a matching punch for the butterflies. I’ve used the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches https://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/ and the colours at the Color Throwdown Challenge for this card https://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/.

I’ve used a black base for the card, as I wanted the colours of the butterflies to stand out. I started by stamping the butterflies in pink, yellow and orange, together with a few extra small ones in peach. I then cut a piece of black card for the card front, together with three strips of the black & white butterfly paper to sit the large butterflies against

I then stuck the small butterflies randomly over some of the in=mages on the paper to give the card more effect

I added the sentiment on a small piece of white card and banner cut one end, sitting one of the small butterflies on it.

Finally, I finished off the butterflies with a few crystals to make them sparkle. We’re probably not going to be seeing too many butterflies now in the UK, as it looks like the summer weather has left us – autumn is on the way!
