Christmas baubles

Welcome to my crafty blog. I’ve started making Christmas cards with my friend & accomplice, Jean. I love these Christmas bauble stamps from Claritystamp – there are two stamps in each set, which overlay each other. I decided to go for a bit of a different look for these, as I really like the effect of white stamping on kraft card

I started by stamping the line art stamp from ‘Joy to the world’ and the background stamp from ‘Peace on earth’, using clear ink on kraft card and then heat embossing in white. Using a stamping platform makes it so much easier when you’re making batches of cards

I then stamped in the night sky on ‘Joy to the world’ using the background stamp and just inking the top part in dark blue

I then inked the whole of the background stamp in clear ink, and heat embossed the image with clear sparkle powder. This gave the night sky some lovely golden flecks, and lifted up the lower part of the card, so the whole bauble looks glittered

Moving on to the ‘Peace on earth’ card, the outline of the image had some gaps at the bottom, as I’d used the background stamp, so I drew in the lines to complete the bauble shape with a white gel pen.

I then inked up the line art stamp in clear ink and again heat embossed that with clear sparkle powder. That left the moon shape still blank on the kraft card, so I used a Versamark pen to ink over the moon and heat embossed it with silver.

I finished by drawing in some hooks using a white gel pen, so the baubles weren’t left sitting in mid air, and that’s the first batch of my Christmas cards done. I’ll be busy over the next few weeks getting more of them made.
