Hello, and welcome to my little crafty blog. I’m sharing a card I was asked to make for someone at work who is about to go on maternity leave. I thought the ‘Birds & Branches’ set from Stampin Up! was perfect for this, with the birds still having their eggs in the nest
I started by die cutting a circle in a piece of the SU ‘Forever Greenery’ designer paper, and used the leafy circle from the ‘Birds & More’ dies to cut a piece of coordinating card that would sit inside the circle.

I then stamped and cut out the two bird images, the eggs, and the nest

The began the fun bit of fitting them all together! I didn’t manage to get the leafy circle aligned completely with the hole in the designer paper, but decided that I quite liked the effect of it being slightly offset, so that more of the side with the branches showed. I stuck the nest behind the circle before then mounting the paper onto a 7×7 square card blank. I snipped into some of the leaves so the birds would tuck into them, and stuck then in using Pinflair glue, and then finally popped the eggs into the nest.

I finished the card with a ‘hello baby’ sentiment. I’m entering this card into this week’s Freshly Made sketches challenge https://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/ . I thought the circle with the nest, and the two birds picked up the elements of this week’s sketch.

Great use of the sketch! Love the designer paper and sweet birds. Thanks for sharing with us at FMS this week!
