Hello and welcome to my little crafty blog. I thought I’d share with you a card I’ve made for my friend’s son, who is a very keen cricketer. Live sport is slowly starting again in the UK, although without spectators, and I know lots of sports fans who’ve been really missing the live games and the atmosphere.
I’ve used the colours of the Indian flag for the background stripes, with the batsman in blue to pick up the Indian team colours for One Day Internationals. I used this week’s design from Freshly Made Sketches for inspiration as well https://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/

It’s a very simple card to make. I used the Tattered Lace ‘cover drive’ die to cut out the batsman and mounted him on a die cut oval

I then cut the stripes for the background, and embossed the white strip using the ‘coffee stains’ embossing folder from Creative Expressions. I love the effect on this, and thought it worked well to suggest whacking the ball out to the boundary to score a six! Unfortunately, I only had a short piece of orange card for the third strip, so cheated and cut it in half knowing it wouldn’t be seen behind the oval when it was mounted.

I mounted the oval onto the front of the card using foam tape to give it more definition. I’ll also personalise it with his name before sending it off

I hope you’re managing to get a bit of a sports fix if you’re a fan. Take care and stay safe
This so smart! Love it Deborah!
