Hello, and welcome to my little crafty blog. I wanted to share a card a made for close friends who’ve recently managed to move house out of London, as the lockdown restrictions have slowly eased. I was a bit worried that it looked a bit wintry, but i wanted a very clean and simple effect (it could work well for a Christmas card as well, though)
I used the Claritystamp ‘wee village’ stamp set, which are great for building up scenes. They also come with a set of masks, which makes the easy to overlap & cuts out the fiddle of making your own. I started by stamping the houses and church across the centre of a 6×6 card blank, then masked the two houses to get the trees to sit between them

I gave them a red front door, and grounded the scene just using a torn piece of copy paper and dabbed lightly with bit of ink using a make up sponge. I just love the little postbox and sign post that are part of the set, and put those in the bottom corner of the card. I used a micron pen to write in the destinations on the signpost.

I’m sure making the card was much easier than actually moving house! I can’t even begin to think about how much clutter I’ve got that would need sorting out if I were to move (and I am sure there night still be at least one box in the loft that never got unpacked when we moved here 25 years ago…!) Whatever you are doing this week, take care and stay safe.
Hi Deborah! very simple and graceful, full of lovely sentiment! I wish I were so creative!

Love the pops of red on this one too and great masking! I’m with you – moving house fills me with dread at the best of times and to have to do it now must be so hard! I’m sure your friends will appreciate the card.
