Welcome to my crafty blog. It’s been a busy week, with not much time for crafting, but I found some time this afternoon to make a birthday card for a friend. I do seem to have a few birthdays to celebrate over Christmas and New Year. I used Julie Hickey’s ‘daisy medley’ and ‘fresh florals’… Read More Daisy Medley
Welcome to my crafty blog. Today’s card uses the ‘friendship flower’ stamp set by Julie Hickey Designs – the colours were inspired by this week’s Color Throwdown challenge https://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/ I started with a small square of smooth kraft card, and stamped the large flowers across the left hand side, using a clear ink. I then… Read More Friendship flower
Welcome to my crafty blog. I’ve had a bit of a break from making Christmas cards, and turned to a birthday card for today’s offering. Welcome to my crafty blog. Today’s card picks up the title of one of the best loved Christmas carols. Despite singing it every year, I knew very little about it’s history, so did a quick bit of research on the BBC website. ‘Silent Night’ originates from Germany and was first performed on Christmas Eve, 1818.… Read More Silent Night

Welcome to my crafty blog. I discovered that it’s National Afternoon Tea week in the UK, and thought this stamp from Crafty Individuals was perfect. Afternoon tea is a very British tradition which, according to the Fortnum & Mason website (https://www.fortnumandmason.com/fortnums/short-history-of-afternoon-tea) dates back to the 1830s when Anna Russell, Duchess of Bedford, is credited with… Read More Tea for two
