Japanese floral panels for Love to Craft Challenge

Hello crafty friends and welcome to our new challenge at Love to Craft! As always the theme is ‘anything goes’ and I’ve taken the chance to showcase another look at one of the new Japanese floral panel stamps from ClarityCrafts. This time round AAA Birthday have also gladdened my heart with their CAS theme

My first step was to run a strip of Clarity’s mask material across the centre of half a 6×6 card blank. I then stamped the panel outline above and below the masked strip. I blended ‘broken china’ & ‘mermaid lagoon’ Distress Oxides onto the infill stamp using a sponge and stamped it into the top panel. I then blended ‘mermaid lagoon’ and ‘uncharted mariner’ onto the infill and stamped that into the bottom panel, to give me an ombre effect running top to bottom.

I used a large square embedder to frame the topper, added a mount of Waimea Falls companion paper and attached it to a 7×7 card blank. The finishing touch was to add one of the ‘occasions sentiments’ – actually I was going to add it twice, but stamped the first one too far in to the gap from the left, so didn’t have space to repeat it! It looked a little sparse at that point (even by my standards!) so I added a little butterfly shaded with a Pergaliner pencil – good enough!

Thanks for dropping in – come on over to Love to Craft challenge and share the things you love to craft!
