Branches and sprigs

Hello crafty friends. I’ve got a card made with more products that are in this week’s Big Autumn Sale over on the Clarity Crafts website – this time it’s the turn of the Bijou Branches, Twigs & Sprigs stamps. Now, those of you who’ve been following my little bloggy musings for a while will know that I love a bit of image and scene building with stamps, so these play right into my happy place!

I kept it clean & simple for this one (no surprises there!), starting with one of the 3.5″ squares of premium card. I stamped one of the branches with ‘peeled paint’ Distress Ink, then added the leafy sprigs over them in the same colour – the stamp pens are perfect for this kind of repeat stamping.

Next was to add some blossom, with ‘milled lavender’ for the larger flowers and ‘seedless preserve’ for the smaller ones – although I think the little flowers look like a host of butterflies nesteled in the branches!

Finally, I stamped one of the Bijou Statement Sentiments into place, again in the ‘peeled paint’, then started my hunt for a matching piece of companion paper! I was going to go with a green tone, but found this lovely wine colour (I think it’s Amazonia), which really lifted out the colours of the blossom. I covered the front of a 4×4 card blank with it, before simply sticking the topper into place.

I don’t often make cards in this small size, but it’s perfect for little notes to send people. I love how well the colours worked too, inspired by the challenge theme at AAA Cards – they also pick up the pink(ish) theme at 613 Avenue Create.
