Hello everyone. I’m back to an autumn vibe today thanks to our new palette at CAS Colours & Sketches, which I put to use with one of the Leafy Overlay stencils.

So, here we go with another simple process! I cut a piece of premium card to 5″ square, then laid one of the stencils on it. I covered up the leaves I wasn’t using with post-it notes, then sponged ‘rustic wilderness’ and ‘barn door’ Distress Oxides into it, to blend the colours. I then repositioned the stencil a couple of times and repeated the process, keeping post-it notes in place to isolate the leaves each time.

I wanted to soften the background, so used a stencil brush to sweep ‘antique linen’ Distress Oxide up from the bottom left-hand corner. I then switched to some of the smaller leafy sprays on the stencil and sponged more of the ‘antique linen’ through them, which filled out the images nicely.

I added an Art Deco sentiment (sadly, I need to replenish my stash of sympathy cards) and a mount of Shenandoah companion paper, then attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

I’m pleased with how this came together – it’s another one of my designs that ‘evolved’ as I went along! What would you do with this autumnal palette? Come and share your design with us as CAS C&S – just remember to keep it clean and simple (our rules are on the blog, if you need a refresher)
And I’ve got a few more autumn themed challenges to share this one with too, starting with Cardz4 Guyz, then also Make My Monday and Cupcake Inspiration.

Absolutely stunning. Those stencils would also work on lots of other occasion cards.

I love the depth you created by varying the strength of the inks as you stencilled – just lovely. So calming and serene – perfect for a sympathy card.
