Hello crafty friends and welcome to August with this week’s Seasonal Saturday card. Tracy has given us a sketch to play with at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and it prompted me to find another use for the Tree Canopy Scene stamps with a little ink blending for the panel strip.

I first cut a piece of premium card to fit on an A6 card blank, laid the ground mask from the Riverside Mountains mask set across it and then blended ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxide above it, taking care not to go all the way to the top of the card but leaving a soft edge.

Next was to stamp one of the large tree stamps in ‘hickory smoke’ Distress Oxide, which I heat embossed with WOW’s clear sparkle powder.

I added the little hare from the stamp set, then was kicking myself for not having thought to put down a moon mask when I was blending the blue ink! I solved it by adding the moon mask, then sponging a little more of the ‘chipped sapphire’ across it, which gave me a soft moon effect. I stamped one of the Bijou Statement Sentiments in ‘watering can’ Archival ink and attached the topper to an A6 card blank. Finally I added a few snowdrifts on the ground with a pale blue Polychromo pencil plus a Quickie glue pen and Perga glitter to match the sparkle on the trees.

A simple little scene, but you know I love a bit of ink blending! We do hope you’ll come and play with us at 52 CCT and share your festive makes based on Tracy’s sketch.
I’m going to share my card with a few other Christmas challenges as well – Just Add Ink, Holly and Ivy, and Merry Little Christmas.
