Hello crafty friends. Following on from yesterday’s card with the stamps from July’s Clarity Craft Club, I’m back today with the July stencil to complete the package! This abstract ribbons design makes such a useful background for lots of images – I’ve gone with the Branches, Twigs & Sprigs stamps to build some leafy trees on this one.

I started with one of the 6×4.5″ pieces of premium card, attached the stencil and brushed ‘salvaged patina’ and ‘saltwater taffy’ Distress Oxides though it to give me a blended background.

Next was to trim the card down, cut it into two and stamp a couple of the branches onto it with ‘watering can’ Archival ink.

I then took two of the leaf stamps with ‘pine needles’ Distress Ink and filled in my trees – I’d mounted the leaves onto stamp pens, which made the repeat stamping very easy. Once done, I mounted one of them on a layer of green companion paper and attached it it to a 5×7 card blank, finishing with one of the Tall Art Deco sentiments. I edged the second panel with the companion paper on each side, trimmed it at the top and attached it to a 6×6 card blank – no sentiment on this one yet, as I’ve not decided what I’m using it for!

I do love getting multiple cards from one background – and don’t you think those abstract ribbons trails look like paths snaking their way through the woods?
Thanks for dropping in. I’m heading off to share one of these cards with the challenges Addicted to CAS for their ‘trees’ theme, and Color Dare whose palette I picked up.
