Hello everyone. I’ve got another look at one of the new Wee Tree stencils today – I’d still got the Riverside Landscape Reflection masks out on my desk from prepping for last week’s shows when I made this one, so I incorporated the mountain mask into my design.

This time I used the little half tree image (second from the left on the bottom row in the image above) and built a reflection with it. I first placed it on a piece of 6×4.5 premium card, holding it in place with low tack tape, and brushed a combination of ‘salvaged patina’ and ‘peacock feathers’ Distress Oxide into it. I cleaned the ink off, then flipped the stencil and repeated the inking on the right hand side of the card.

I then realigned the stencil to form the reflection image, overlaying the stem with the first ones and repeating the two-stage process of flipping it.

I decided it needed something in the background, which is why I reached for the mountain reflection masks, brushing ‘speckled egg’ Distress Oxide across them and keeping the ink lighter in the bottom half. Finally, I also lightly brushed ‘tumbled glass’ into the background to soften the white card.

Having added one of the Art Deco sentiments in ‘peacock feathers’, I added a little grey shading with a Polychromo pencil below the stems. I trimmed the topper down to 6×4 inches, found a matching mount in the Antarctica companion paper and attached it to a 5×7 card blank.

I was so pleased with how this turned out – those soft tones work really well!
