Balancing dancers for Addicted to Stamps & More #520

Hello everyone! I’ve got another of the cards to share with you that I was demoing at the Open Days last weekend, using the pretty SHAC Dancing Girls on a soft printed background from the Painterly collection. I’d added a mount cut with the Hearts Doodle Frame-It Panel dies to pick up our new theme at Addicted to Stamps & More!

So, I first cut one of the A6 Painterly backgrounds down to a square and ran a strip of low tack tape across the lower edge to give me a guideline. I could then stamp part of a sentiment from the Dotted Blooms & Sentiment Stalks set into place – I masked the ‘happy’ part off before inking it then added ‘it ‘birthday’ vertically on the card (remembering to remove the tape before stamping it!) I then perched one of the dancers on the end of the sentiment.

I repeated the process with the ‘happy’ part of the sentiment, adding another dancer on top of it before shading them both with a couple of blue Polychromo pencils to pick up one of the background colours. I then added a couple more of the sentiments from the Dotted Blooms set.

Finally, I cut a mount of pale blue companion paper with the Hearts Doodle Frame-It Panel dies, which picked up the colour of my dancing girls, then attached it to a 6×6 card blank with an indented frame that I’d created using a square embedder and a ball tool.

I made several of these toppers over the weekend – it was a popular design!

I still need to cut more mounts to finish off these toppers – the Hearts Doodle Frame-It Panels make the perfect finishing touch for these sweet images. What dies or stencils do you like to use on your cards? Why not come and share them with us at Addicted to Stamps & More?
