Hello everyone! I’m back with a second offering today ahead of the official launch at 2pm of the new Linda’s Summer Sampler stamps on Clarity Social TV. It’s another water theme as I’ve picked out the lovely scene of the girl in a deckchair chilling by the water’s edge – wouldn’t you just love to be there instead of working on a Monday?! The other helpful thing I discovered when playing with these stamps is that the Large Square Framework stencil is the perfect size for masking the inside of the frames – I love it when a plan comes together!

So, having stamped the frame onto a piece of premium card that I cut to 4″ square, I lined up the Framework stencil on it and ran a piece of low tack tape across the middle (having checked the alignment with the horizon on the stamp). I brushed ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Oxide in the sky, then realigned the tape and brushed ‘mowed lawn’ in from the left hand side. Finally, I sponged the ‘tumbled glass’ into the water area on the right – sponging gives a more intense tone than the stencil brush does.

Next was to stamp the deckchair lady into place with black Archival ink, then shade the scene with blue, green and brown Polychromo pencils.

I wanted to add colour to the frame as well, so used the one of the inner pieces from the Framework stencil to mask the image, with low tack tape around the outer card edges, then brushed the ‘tumbled glass’ around the frame. It was a bit tricky to fix the stencil piece down, so I wound up doing this in two parts, holding it in place with low tack tape across the bottom edge and brushing ink in from the top, then moving the tape upwards so I could complete the bottom of the frame.

I simply added one of the sentiments from the Dotted Blooms & Sentiment Stalks set, ran a black Sharpie around the card edges and popped it on a mount of Waimea Falls companion paper. Having once again embossed a frame on a 5×5 card blank with a square embedder and a ball tool

My little grandson would love this scene too – he’s a big fan of ducks! Here he is in hot pursuit of one when I took him out last week!

I’m looking forward to seeing what Barbara does with these stamps on this afternoon’s show. Before then. though, I’m off to share this one with a few other challenges, starting with Time Out where I took summer, water & vacation from their list of prompts, and AAA Cards having picked up summer & get away from their 1+1 list. The colours reflect Hand Stamped Sentiments’ palette and finally Cardz4Galz have got a seaside/coast theme.

Love this… and sure would love to be there! And your grandson is beyond adorable chasing that duck! One turned around and chased my son at the park when he still in diapers (LOL) so that cured him of wanting to chase the ducks! Bahahaha!
