Hello crafty friends. Well, it’s the first Sunday of the month, so time for another major release from Clarity Crafts, which Barbara will be working with over on their YouTube channel between 2-4pm today – watch it here. I’ve picked up the fab Stamp Stamps for today’s card, which pair beautifully with the Dotted Butterflies (one of June’s Products of the Month, so currently available at a 30% discount)

The first step was to stamp one of the butterflies onto a piece of white premium card, then mask it off (the pre-cut ones for the images come with the stamp set) and add the large rectangle stamp to frame it, all with black Archival ink.

I covered the outer edge of the stamp frame with low tack tape, then turned to the clouds mask from the Build a Scene set, lightly brushing ‘salty ocean’ Distress Oxide across it for my sky, then softening the blue by just sweeping a little ‘wilted violet’ in as well.

Having removed all the tape and masks, I cut the card down with one of the nested rectangle picot dies and shaded the butterfly with a ‘violet’ Polychromo pencil (from the Winter set). I wanted to lift the stamp outline a little, so created a drop shadow around the edge with a couple of grey Polychromos.

I then simply attached a piece of Antarctica designer paper to a 5×5 card blank (for once, I’d actually chosen my paper before starting on my topper, so was able to make sure the colours I used toned in!) and added my topper to the card front.

I’ll be tucking in with a coffee to watch Barb put these and the other new goodies through their paces (more of those to share in the coming days).

I’m going to share this with the challenges at AAA Colourful having picked up the tones from their colour board and with Triple B (it’s no surprise to see that it picks up the B for Butterfly for them!) and with Love Those Pretty Papers for the gorgeous Antarctica background.
