Hello everyone. We’re forecast to have record breaking temperatures in the UK today (it is ridiculously hot!), but this chap from the Triangle People A4 stamp set has found a shady spot on one of the Waimea Falls designer cards for a spot of fishing!

I found the perfect piece of card with a waterfall design on it (these are all printed from originals that Barbara made with alcohol inks) and trimmed it down to give me a narrow border on a 5×7 card blank. I could then stamp my fisherman into place by the pond area. I opted to paper piece the image, stamping and fussy cutting the box he’s sat on from an offcut of Darjeeling Infusions paper, then using a bit of blue Toscana paper for his body and hat. I didn’t want to leave him with a dark green face (?!), so lightened the card with an ink eraser and shaded it back in with a ‘sanguine’ Polychromo pencil. The final touch was the sentiment from the A6 Triangle People set.

It’s so hot, I’m not doing anything outdoors today – I’m taking my grandson to an indoor soft play area! Meanwhile, this chap is off to make an appearance in the galleries at Inkspirational and Love Those Pretty Papers. I’ll be back tomorrow, if I survive an afternoon with a toddler!!
