Drink the wild air

Hello again! I’m back with another look at the fabulous new Hopi Dancers stamps, this time using a couple of stamps from the Air trio – meet Whispering Feathers and Keeper of Birds, sat on a background from the Leafy Strip stencil.

I started (as I so often do) with one of the 3.5″ squares of premium card, laid the leafy strip stencil over it and brushed through Distress Oxides in ‘speckled egg’, ‘salvaged patina’ and ‘uncharted mariner’ to get a blend of tones.

Next was to stamp the small dancers from each set, using black Archival ink, and then shade then with various blue Perga Liner pencils.

I added the sentiment from the Whispering Feathers set plus one from Just Butterflies & Bees, with a simple mount of Shenandoah companion paper. The topper then sat neatly on a 5×5 card blank to finish.

I am in love with this fabulous collection of indigenous dancers – you can find more information about the Hopi Indians of Arizona here

I’m going to share this card with a few current challenges as well. My background works for Stencil Fun & Just Add Ink, and the colours are from the bluer tones in AAA Colourful‘s palette, which also fits with the monochromatic theme at Allsorts.
