Daisy love & best wishes

Hello friends! I hope you’ve had a good weekend. I managed to squeeze in a bit of time for crafting this afternoon (for use later in the week), but for now I’ve got another of my samples from Friday’s release of the new Floral Wall Mixed Impressions stamp set, paired with the Tall Art Deco Sentiments – the sentiments are one of Clarity’s Products of the Month for May: put any one of them in your shopping backet and it doubles your loyalty points on the whole order!

Now, after using the largest stamp on Friday’s card, today’s offering uses the two smallest ones (they’re on the top left of the set). Having cut a piece of the 6×4.5″ premium card to a square, I stamped the first of the dotty outline daisies in the centre, towards the bottom with black Archival ink. I’d lined the stamp up on one of Clarity’s Mega Mounts, sitting the etched line along the bottom of the card – that then made it easy to stamp it in line one either side, as I just needed to sit the etched line along the bottom of the card piece each time. The image tessellates pretty well, but you can see that I had a narrow gap with the right hand one – read on for my solution!

I switched to the solid daisies stamp, which is a perfect infill image for the flowers, inked it up with ‘squeezed lemonade’ Distress Oxide and coloured in the daisies, using the same technique with my Mega Mount as I did for the outlines. Despite that, my lining up was a bit off on one of the sets, but the images are very forgiving because of the dotted background and I simply shaded the missed areas with a ‘light cadmium yellow’ Polychromo pencil. My next solution was to cover the gap between my dotted backgrounds – I simply added a few more dots down the gap with a micron pen!

I stamped the sentiment above the panel of flowers and then ran a black Sharpie around the card edges. I found a co-ordinating mount of Toscana companion paper and attached the whole piece to a 6×6 card blank.

I struggled a bit with these larger stamps when they first arrived – you know I’m much better with small CAS images! These smallest stamps in the set did make me very happy, but I am determined to get to grips with the larger stamps too – watch this space!

I’m going to share this in the gallery at Colorful Options, where they’re looking for black & white with a pop of colour!
