Evelyn

Hello everyone! I hope you’ve had a good start to your week – mine’s been busy with Granny duties this morning and a work meeting this afternoon, but I’ve now grabbed a few minutes to share this card with you and highlight the last few hours of Clarity’s Big Spring Sale, which ends at midnight tonight. The three characters in the Friends, Sisters, Angels collection are just so lovely – I’ve featured Evelyn today, as I’ll be visiting Holland on my travels later this year and she reminded me of a little Dutch girl in traditional costume, which is why she’s standing in a field of tulips from the SHAC Holland set!

So, having cut myself a square of premium card, I stamped the row of tulips across the bottom of the card – this is another of Clarity’s sets that comes with pre-cut reusable masks for the images, which made stamping the tulips very easy. Keeping the masks over the tulips, I then stamped Evelyn to stamp behind the,

Having masked Evelyn off as well, I brushed ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Oxide across my clouds mask to create a spring sky. I could then colour her using Polychromo pencils in ‘light phthalo blue’ from the Summer set and ‘bluish turquoise’ from Winter. The tulips were then brought to life with ‘light cadmium yellow’ and ‘cadmium orange’, plus ‘earth green yellowish’ and ‘permanent green olive’ for the leaves. The sentiment came from Evelyn’s stamp set, with the birds from the Feathered Friends miniatures set. I then simply edged the topper with a black Sharpie and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

Doesn’t she look so calm and graceful in her tulip field? All the stamps I’ve used on this card are half price in the Big Spring Sale – but only until midnight. Just time to grab these bargains before they turn into pumpkins!!

I’m really looking forward to visiting the Netherlands later this year, although the tulips will be long gone by then! Meanwhile, I’m off to visit a couple of challenge galleries with this little offering – my yellow tulips pick up the moodboard at Colorful Options and also fit the bill at Beautiful Blossoms

  1. I just love this card and Evelyn. She reminds me of a nun as well as the Netherlands. You will love it there. We visit often as I was born there and my sister lives near Nijmegen.
