April’s calendar for Addicted to Stamps & More #514

Hello crafty friends and welcome to April! Time for the next page in my Clarity calendar and Addicted to Stamps & More gave me the perfect excuse to share it, with our new theme of ‘any occasion’. I’m still busy playing with the new Decorative Panels stencils and opted for a floral theme on this month’s calendar page thanks to the Wild Meadow panel.

This time round I used a gel press to create the stencilled images, splitting it into two sections. I ran low tack tape down the sides of my calendar topper so I got a straight edge. Then, having laid the stencil on a 6×6 gel press I sponged ‘saltwater taffy’ and ‘shaded lilac’ Distress Oxides onto the flowers and filled in the background with ‘peeled paint. I lifted the stencil off the gel press, then turned it on it’s mount and used it as a stamp to lay down the upper print on my topper. Having cleaned the ink from the gel press I relaid the stencil on it, positioning it towards the other end this time, and again sponged ink through it – ‘shaded lilac’ on the flowers, ‘squeezed lemonade’ around the seedheads and ‘peeled paint’ again in the background. I repeated the process of lifting the stencil and then using the gel press to ‘stamp’ the image onto the topper, this time below the first one.

I found the perfect sentiment in the Tulips & Snowdrops Framer stamp set, so added it between the two images. I used the largest square embedder and a ball tool to emboss an outer frame on the topper, added a mount of Indian Summer companion paper and attached it to my blank calendar page.

I’m really enjoying building my calendar pages as we work through the year. What occasion will you come and share with us in our gallery at Addicted to Stamps & More?

This page also fits with a couple of other challenges, as I took my colours from Color Dare’s palette and probably don’t need to explain the reason for sharing it with Stencil Fun!
