Fresh colours for As You See It Challenge #369

Hello friends. It’s time for our next challenge at As You See It and I thought this pretty palette was perfect for one of the new stencils from Clarity that were launched today – meet the Lotus Panel.

I took the lovely lotus stencil (we saw a lots of these when we were in Northern Australia last year), laid it on one of the new long card pieces (holding it in place with low tack tape) then set about sponging Distress Oxides through it to showcase the fab design – I went with ‘kitsch flamingo’ on the flowers, ‘bundled sage’ on the leaves and ‘salvaged patina’ in the background. Obviously, the colours will land slightly beyond the outlines of the various parts of the image when using a sponge, but I like this effect.

I trimmed the stencilled image down into four 5cm squares and mounted each one onto a layer of pale blue Waimea Falls companion paper.

I then lined the squares up onto a mount of white card (5″ square), using a ruler to ensure they were accurately aligned and glued them into place before adding one of the All Occasions Rub On Transfers. I then used a large square embedder and a ball tool to emboss a frame onto the front of a 6×6 card blank and simply sat the topper within it.

I’ve been having fun playing with these new panel stencils – there’s more to share over the coming days! And we’d love to see how you put our new colours into action – the As You See It gallery is open and awaiting your creations!

Meanwhile, I’m going to share this card with a couple of other challenges. Just Us Girls have got their ‘anything goes’ stencil theme this week and my flowers fit the B for blooms over at Triple B.
