Floral hearts

Hello crafty friends. I’ve got a final look at one of the March Products of the Month to share with you today, using Barbara’s Floral Hearts stamps – they’ll still be available in future, but won’t trigger double loyalty points on your shopping basket contents from April. These are such pretty images, perfect for lots of occasions including birthdays, weddings, or any celebration!

I decided to make a slimline card this time round, lining up a trio of the floral hearts. Having cut my topper to size, I first stamped the roses heart into the centre in black Archival ink (I drew a pencil guideline down the middle of the card so I could line the heart up accurately). I covered it with the pre-cut mask that comes with the set, then stamped the floral heart onto each side, using the solid outline infill stamp with ‘blueprint sketch’ Distress Oxide to colour the frames.

I carried on with the other infill stamps in the set to add ‘squeezed lemonade’ to the roses heart frame, ‘carved pumpkin’ and ‘squeezed lemonade’ to the flowers and ‘blueprint sketch’ to the little boxes, before shading the leaves with ‘may green’ and ‘permanent green olive’ Polychromo pencils. After cutting an 8×8 card blank in half for my base, I covered it with blue Antarctica companion paper and added the topper to it, finishing with the sentiment in the ‘blueprint sketch’.

These floral hearts are so pretty just one their own but also work beautifully together, don’t you think? I’m sharing this card with a few more current challenges, starting with the current palette at Creative Colour and adding in the ‘blooms/blossoms’ for Triple B & Beautiful Blossoms.
