SHAC hot air balloon

Hello friends. Well, the months sure go round quickly – I’m back on Clarity Social TV tomorrow (Friday) at 10am and 2pm with some more goodies and (hopefully) inspiration! I’m dipping back into some of the SHAC products in the afternoon, originally drawn by Barbara as part of the SHAC online community during the Covid period – here’s a look at the Hot Air Balloon which works perfectly with the March Craft Club stencil to create a little balloon fiesta!

I cut a 6″ square of the premium card, stamped the SHAC hot air balloon onto it and covered with the precut mask that’s part of the stamp set. I then overlaid the Craft Club stencil and sponged ‘uncharted mariner’ and ‘bundled sage’ Distress Oxides through it to colour the balloons. Having lifted the stencil, I outlined them with a black micron pen – I don’t have the steadiest hand, but decided it didn’t matter if the outline was a little wobbly!

Next was to shade the SHAC balloon image, this time using Polychromo pencils – I picked out ‘may green’ and ‘ultramarine’ as the closest shades to my inks. I then pulled out my Clouds mask and lightly brushed ‘weathered wood’ Distress Oxide across it for create my sky – I like the soft grey against the balloons.

I added the sentiment from the stamp set and ran a black Sharpie around the edges of the topper. I decided to use a 7×7 card blank and used my largest square embedder and a ball tool to emboss a frame on it, then glued the topper to sit within it.

So I do hope you’ll come and join over in the Clarity studio tomorrow at 10am & 2pm (it’s on their YouTube channel as well to catch up with later). I’ve just got a final bit of prep to finish this evening and then I’ll be packed ready to set off first thing in the morning.

Before then, I’m going to share this card with Hand Stamped Sentiments, whose colour palette I took, and with Allsorts & Stencil Fun for their ‘anything goes’ options.
