Hello crafty friends and welcome to our new challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches. Joanne’s given us a lovely palette of spring colours and I thought they would work beautifully with the new Dream Bird stamp set from Clarity. I’ve used both the outline and infill stamps on this card – such a easy way to add the colour to the image.

First step was to stamp the Dream Bird circle outline onto a 5×5 card blank using black Archival ink. I then sponged ‘mowed lawn’ and ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxides onto the infill stamp, keeping away from the bird, and added that to the outline image.

Next was to highlight the colours with Polychromo pencils. I shaded the bird with a bend of ‘light cadmium yellow’ and ‘dark cadmium yellow’, then deepened the shading on the flowers with ‘may green’ and across the branch with ‘ultramarine’.

I framed the image by embossing a round embedder around it with a ball and finished with one of the KISS word stickers.

We’d love you to come and play along with us at CAS C&S and put these fresh colours into action! I’m going to share this creation with Seize the Birthday for their optional twist of ‘wings’.

I love how you’ve used the image – the ink blending effects somehow makes it look embossed – it looks great though!

Love the detail of this image Deborah and graduating the colour across the circle is very clever. The yellow bird is so striking in the centre too – lovely!
