Heart of roses for Christmas (or not) BINGO challenge #18

Good morning everyone and welcome to March! I’m kicking off the day with another of Clarity’s new Products of the Month – a pair of Floral Heart stencils and I’ve used the rose one on today’s card. It’s also time for our new challenge at Christmas (or not) BINGO, so we’ve got a fun new card for you to play with! As a reminder, you choose one of the columns (B, I, N, G or O) and include at least three of the prompts from it on your creation. I went with column N for my card, picking up CAS style, embossing and floral image.

So, here’s the lowdown on the card. I cut a piece of their Premium Card (previously known as stencil card) to 6″ square, laid the inner heart of the stencil onto it and ran it through my embossing machine using a rubber shim to emboss the image into the card. Keeping the stencil in place, I added the outer surround to mask the card and then started sponging ink through it – ‘gathered twigs’ Distress Ink into the outer areas and ‘kitsch flamingo’ & ‘picked raspberry’ onto the roses.

Having done that, I cut a mount of brown card using the largest of the Film Strip Doodle Frame-it Panel dies and then attached the topper to a 7×7 card blank. I thought the two roses within the heart were perfect for an anniversary card, so mounted one of the KISS word stickers onto a scrap of pink companion paper and added it to the card front.

These stencils give a card so much impact, especially when embossed first. I took my colours from the photo at Cupcake Inspirations and am also going to share this with Double D for their ‘signs of love’ theme and Just Add Ink who are looking for stencils and/or dies – I ticked both those boxes!
