V for Volume at Alphabet Challenge

Good morning, crafty friends! I’ve got one of my demos from this morning’s 10am Clarity Social TV show to share with you today, inspired by our new theme of V for Volume at Alphabet Challenge. I took the Floral Delights – Happy Anniversary set as the basis for my card, but added in the sentiment from the birthday set – these stamp sets are perfect for mixing and matching between them.

The first step was to get my flowers into place, I used low tack tape to mask off the frame before inking it with black Archival and stamping onto a 3.5″ square of stencil card. I wanted to make it look like one of those floral swings you see in fancy magazines, so then took one of the SHAC Borders, Strips & Panels stamps (currently one of the February Products of the Month, which means double loyalty points when added to your basket) and stamped it either side of the flowers using ‘library green’ Archival ink.

I then turned to my lovely Polychromo pencils to shade in the flowers, using ‘coral’ & ‘rose carmine’ and ‘light ultramarine’ and ‘violet’ for the flowers, with ‘earth green’ and ‘pine green’ for the leaves. I’d also stamped the flowers a couple more times onto Clarity’s super smooth paper, so coloured them in and then fussy cut the individual blooms, so I could layer them up.

Having added in the sentiment with the ‘library green’ Archival, I popped the topper on a mount of Rainbow River companion paper that I’d cut with one of the Lattice Doodle Panel Frame-it dies and attached it to a 5×5 card blank.

As I was finishing the card, I decided I wanted a bit more dimension on my centre flower, so stamped, coloured and fussy cut the little individual stamp in the set and popped it on the top. Added volume!

So, it’s the final day of Clarity’s Half Price Members’ Sale today (finishing at midnight UK time) and all these Clarity products are included, other than the Product of the Month stamps. So it’s not too late to invest at a great price! You can also watch my show over on Clarity’s YouTube channel, and I’m heading over to share this in the gallery at Seize the Birthday before having a sit down with a cup of coffee before this afternoon’s show!
