Hello everyone. Here we are nearly at the end of January and already onto our second challenge of the year at As You See It. Heather’s given us this brilliant recipe with shades of red – perfect if you’re planning a Valentine’s card, but it works for so many other occasions too! I went back to Clarity’s Art Deco Round Frames stamps as the basis of my card, with heat embossing on parchment and a bit of added layering.

The first step was to stamp one of the round frames onto a piece of parchment using Versamark clear ink, then heat emboss it with WOW’s superfine white powder.

I coloured parts of the frame on the reverse of the parchment with a red Perga colour pen, then stamped one of the Art Deco sentiments into the circle using ‘cranberry’ Dylusions Archival ink (from one of the mini sets) Once the ink was dry, I fussy cut the embossed image.

I cut a piece of white card using one of the Circle ‘Scallop’ Doodle Frame-it Panel dies with a mount of Indian summer paper using a plain nested circle die and glued the two together before attaching the parchment on the top. Taking a 5×5 card blank, I embossed a frame using a round embedder and a ball tool, then simply popped the topper to sit within it, finishing with some little silver gems.

So that’s got all the recipe elements included in the card: ‘celebration theme’ with the sentiment; vellum (parchment) for my topper; shades of red; dies to cut my layers for the topper; and bling with my silver gems. We do hope you’ll come on over and play along with our recipe elements at As You See It.
