Hello friends and welcome to another look at the new Bijou Leafy Backdrop stamps that launched on Monday. This time I’ve used right hand stamp in the set together with a little heat embossing for a CAS card.

I do like kraft card and white as a combination and decided to simulate that by embossing the stamp onto Clarity’s buff paper, using WOW’s super fine white powder.

Next was to cut a topper to fit a 5×5 card blank, then create an aperture in it with a nested square die. I layered scrap card onto the back of the topper, then ran glue around the edge of the aperture and laid it over the embossed image, so it sat squarely in the window.

I popped another piece of the buff paper onto the front of a 5×5 card blank, then added the topper onto it. I finished by stamping the smaller backdrop stamp below the aperture using ‘pumice stone’ Distress Oxide and added one of the Bijou Retro Sentiments in ‘potting soil’ Archival. With hindsight, I could have used a slightly darker ink for the sentiment background, but hey ho…

Even though these are described as ‘backdrop’ stamps, I think they work equally well as main images. I’m going to share this one with a few images, having take the tones and leafy images from Hand Stamped Sentiments. CAS on Friday are looking for monochrome cards and Simply Clean & Simple have challenged us to ‘use something new’ – all boxes ticked!
