Hello friends. I’m back with the second part of yesterday’s card creation, this time using up the piece of Leafy Mini BOW-WOB paper that I used to create the gel press print.

Just to remind you of the starting point for yesterday’s card, I brayered ‘chipped sapphire’, ‘blueprint sketch’ and ‘salty ocean’ Distress Oxides onto my gel press plate, laid the piece of BOW-WOB paper on it to pick up ink on the white areas (the black laser print acts as a resist) and then pulled a print from the gel press onto stencil card. Two backgrounds for the effort of one!

So, having used the gel press print on yesterday’s card, I decided to put the inked BOW-WOB paper into action for today’s. I cut it down to 4.75″ by 4.5″ (12 x 11.5cm), with the width being shorter than the length, the cut it into four strips of increasing width.

I cut a piece of black card to 4.75″ square and then started gluing the strips into place on it using Pritt stick – having made the width slightly narrower than the length meant I had room to space out the strips to make the overall square shape. Once done, I added it to a black 5×5 card blank. I found a suitable word sticker from the Feel Good Factor collection, mounted it on a piece of the BOW-WOB that I’d trimmed off plus another piece of black card and added it to the card front.

These papers have such fabulous patterns on them that I didn’t want to cover this piece up – cutting it into uneven strips added interest without losing sight of the design. I’m going to share it with Love Those Pretty Papers for their ‘anything goes’ option. Not sure you’d call this one ‘pretty’, but it’s definitely dramatic!
