Winter sports at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown

Hello friends and welcome to the weekend, with my Seasonal Saturday post for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Our theme this week is ‘winter sports’ – not something I indulge in, but I searched my stash and remembered the skier in Clarity’s Wee Sports People, so here he is! he’s more of a Nordic cross-country style on my card, rather than Alpine downhill, but that’s probably a safer sport to take up (there speaks an orthopaedic nurse who can’t manage heights!)

So, let’s start with the background, one of the Landscape Toppers which was has actually been foiled and sitting on my craft desk for some months awaiting it’s opportunity.

I’ve once again let the background do most of the work, with just some simple stamping! I added one of the Trees & their Mantles images twice, followed by the skier heading out of the trees and one of the Art Deco sentiments (Clarity’s Product of the Month for January). I trimmed the topper down to a square, added a mount of Antarctica companion paper and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

Here’s another view of the lovely shimmer from the hot foiling on the topper.

What winter sports would you feature on a Christmas card – do come and show us at 52CCT. I’m sharing this one with a couple of other challenges, starting with Neglected Stuff – I’ve had the Wee Sports People for some years and, although several of the other characters have been used, this is the first time the skier has seen ink! The Trees & their Mantles stamps also haven’t been in action for well over a year (I checked back on the blog posts!) And obviously, a skier on a Christmas card fits in with the winter theme at The Four Seasons.
