Triangle trees for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown

Hello everyone and welcome to my second Seasonal Saturday of 2026 with our new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Andreja’s given us a great palette to play with, which I thought was perfect for the Triangle Trees masks, together with a fab new set of Art Deco sentiments, which are Clarity’s Product of the Month (add them into an order and you get double loyalty points on your whole basket).

I started with a 5×5 square of kraft card, laid down the ground mask to give me a marker and added one of the outer masks for my first tree, sponging ‘lucky clover’ Distress Oxide into it. I then put the inner part of the mask into place, removed the outer and moved on to repeat the process for my next tree. I worked on each in turn until I’d got five trees, using various shades of green- ‘peeled paint’, ‘evergreen bough’, ‘rustic wilderness’ and ‘iced spruce’.

Net was to run low tack tape around the card edges to give me a frame and dragged ‘picket fence’ Distress Ink into the sky area with a sponge. I swapped the ground mask for the upper part so that I could then sponge ‘evergreen bough’ and ‘lucky clover’ across it.

I then got busy decorating my trees with Polychromo pencils and fine gold and white Posca pens. I heat embossed one of the Art Deco sentiments below the trees, then added a few patches of snow with my fine white Posca pen, switching to the regular one to add snow in the sky. Finally I added a narrow mount of white copy paper and attached the whole piece to a 6×6 kraft card blank.

And here’s a close up of the lovely shine from the gold dots on my trees.

I do hope you’ll come and play along with these great seasonal colours at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. I’m going to share my card at Inkspirational and Merry Little Christmas challenges, together with Stencil Fun.
