Clarity Craft Club – Christmas cottage stencil

Hello everyone – how are your final Christmas preparations going? I’ve been wrapping the last of the presents today and then I’m all set. I grabbed a bit of time to play with the latest stencil from Clarity’s Craft Club, which is a fab little Christmas cottage scene.

I wanted to create a snowy scene with it, so took a piece of the Antarctica designer card, trimmed a little off it so it would fit on a 5×7 card blank and attached the stencil with low tack tape. I then used a sponge dabber to pounce Titanium White acrylic paint through it for the whole scene. I washed my stencil in warm water (after lifting it off the card!) while I gave the paint a few minutes to dry.

I wanted to add a bit more definition, so shaded around the white paint with my grey Polychromos, which outlined the cottage.

After adding one of the Christmas rub-on sentiments and edging the card with a black Sharpie, I simply attached it to the 5×7 card blank.

This is such an easy process, with a great stencil image! I’m going to share it at Stencil Fun for their ‘winter’ theme, together with Love Those Pretty Papers and Just Add Ink – I picked up ‘snow’ and ‘trees’ from their inspo list.
